You will receive a confirmation form with your flight details. Most guests will be flying with Regal Air, located at Lake Hood. Our air taxi service will call you before your flight, so please ensure you provide a reachable phone number for your time in Anchorage. This allows us to update you on any flight changes.
If you have any questions, concerns, or have not received your flight confirmation form, please contact us directly.
Oftentimes, your hotel will be able to shuttle you to Lake Hood at your request. If not, there are many Ubers, Lyfts, and Taxis available for hire in Anchorage.
We fly with our air service partners from Lake Hood in Anchorage – the world’s largest seaplane base. Prior to your trip, we will send you your flight details and itinerary. The round-trip flight from Anchorage to Chelatna Lake Lodge is included in the package price.
Gratuity for staff is not included in the package price. Gratuity is always at the discretion of the guest. A standard recommendation is 10-20% of the lodge package, or $110 - $215 per guest per day. It may be prepaid at request. We ask that cash tips are not offered to individuals but may be designated and paid to our managers at check-out.
We offer complimentary beer and wine to all guests. However, if you would like additional liquor, we can place an order for you at least one month in advance. To arrange this, please call (855) 333-5830 prior to your visit. You will need to complete payment in advance, and we will ensure your order is delivered to the lodge before your arrival. If placing orders for a larger group, please specify the guest responsible for the purchase.
There is a 10-day grace period after booking, where deposits will be refunded in full minus $100 admin fee. Due to our limited space in a season, after you book with us we may have to turn other business away. Because of this we are not able to refund any deposits after the 10-day grace period. Thank you for your understanding. We highly recommend all guests purchase travel insurance. Due to our remoteness and short-season, we cannot offer refunds for changes or cancellations due to weather.

No. Chelatna Lake Lodge guides, pilots and staff will have appropriate bear protection for your adventures.
At Chelatna Lake Lodge, each bedroom has the option of either 2 twin xl beds or 1 king bed.
We encourage our guests to shop around for a travel insurance plan that is best for them. With that said, we do recommend IMG’s Signature Travel Plan. You can get a quote and purchase here.

No. There is no sign-up process for all other activities/adventures. Your daily adventures will be customized for you once you get to the lodge and included in the package price. We are happy to provide you with a sample itinerary that involves hiking, fishing, boating, wildlife viewing, and much more.
No, please eat breakfast before departing Anchorage in the morning. Your first meal at the lodge will be lunch, served before you begin your activities. You will, however, be served breakfast on the morning of your departure back to Anchorage.
No. All fishing gear is provided (waders, boots, rods, reels, etc). We have a detailed packing list of what you need to bring with you to the lodge HERE.
Yes. We ask our guests to keep their luggage under 40lbs. If you find yourself with more than 40lbs of clothes for your stay, you’ve packed too much. See our packing list HERE.
Not necessarily. While you may have an aircraft to yourself, there is also a chance that another group will be on your flightseeing or helicopter experience. If you would like a private aircraft, we can arrange this for an additional cost. Please contact us in advance to discuss options.
Yes. In Alaska we have mosquitos and noseeums. The bugs are not always out at the lodge and when you’re on the water, they are almost never a problem. We do have bug spray and bug nets available at the lodge for guest use.
The weather in Denali country can be quite dynamic. Around summer solstice, the sun sets approximately at 11:30 PM and rises again around 4:30 AM.
In general the temperature ranges from the mid 40's to the upper 60's through our 4 month season. Come August, the sun starts to fade earlier and the temperature started to get cooler.
As the days get shorter from mid-August through September you might get a chance to see the northern lights, but because the phenomenon is unpredictable there’s never a guarantee.
We always do our best to give you options for private ground based hikes, fishing excursions, and tours.
We are currently accepting reservations for 2025 by phone and through our online booking system. We recommend booking as soon as possible to guarantee availability.

Yes, CPAP machines are available upon request. However, due to our remote location, running a generator overnight is required. This service incurs an additional cost of $250 per night.

Upon arrival, our lodge staff will greet you and assist with your luggage. If your chalet is ready, you’ll be able to settle in before heading out on your first adventure. However, due to guest turnover, your chalet may not be immediately available. In that case, we will introduce you to your guide and provide space to prepare before you begin your first fully guided activities.
